Reality‑Equation Therapy: A Two‑Lever Model

Denominator Geometry: Square vs. Rectangles

  • Balanced square – mental homeostasis; subconscious prediction (R) and ideas (I) in parity.
  • Vertical rectangle (tall‑narrow) – I dominates, R starved.
  • Horizontal rectangle (flat‑wide) – R dominates, I starved.

Diagnosis in One Question

Which component is skewed—R or I?

Victimhood language, chronic “life is unfair” → R problem.

Obsessive ideology, rumination, mania → I problem.

Therapy Rules

  1. If the problem is I (vertical rectangle), prescribe R.
    • Introduce a rigorous daily routine—sleep, meals, work, exercise—kept persistent & consistent for ≥ 120 days.
    • Action, not affirmation, retrains the subconscious prediction loop.
  2. If the problem is R (horizontal rectangle), prescribe I.
    • Help the client resonate with a compelling idea—purpose project, artistic mission, service vow.
    • Goal: establish a symbiotic “idea‑has‑person” relationship (Jung), allowing the idea to lift the imaginary axis.

Quick Reference

  • Problem I → Solution R → Therapy = sustained routine (≥120 days).
  • Problem R → Solution I → Therapy = install a dominating idea.

Balance the rectangle, square the denominator, stabilize lived reality.
