In Love or Not: The Non-Dual State of Devotional Orientation

There is No Halfway to the Infinite

This faithfulness, this steady Action of loving resonance, brings us to a point of stark, yet illuminating, clarity. It concerns your own immediate state, Seeker, right now, as you engage with these words. There is a strange quality to this love we speak of: you are either resonating as being in love with the divine, or you are not. No gradient exists here. No negotiation with degrees. No philosophical hedging of bets. This is not a spectrum. It is binary.

As with pregnancy—one is, or one is not—so too with divine love. One either is, or is not. There is no such thing as “half pregnant,” and likewise, there is no “almost” to this sacred orientation. This is not a matter of sentiment or belief. This is ontological: it refers to your very being, your condition, your actual state.

The Echo Within or the Glance From Without

You either recognize yourself, fundamentally, as a lover of the Divine, finding in these pages not only words but reflections—resonant, disturbing, illuminating—of your own inner condition, or you find yourself on the outside, observing, analyzing, perhaps skeptical or curious. You may be moved by the poetry or repelled by the precision, but you do not see yourself in it. You do not feel it calling something ancient and unmistakable from within.

This is not judgment. This is mapping. Where are you, really? If you find yourself continuing to read, even when challenged, even when unsettled, it may be because your history—the precise pattern of choices, priorities, intentions, and attention that you are making right now—is aligned with the pulse of this divine frequency. The discomforts, the disruptions you feel in these words, may be birth pangs—refinements of love, not rejections of it. They may be the ache of expanding into the reality you already are.

For Those Outside Resonance

But if you do not feel resonance—if what you read seems alien, if your interior atmosphere rejects these claims with tension or dismissal—then let us pause and honor that. You are not wrong. You are not missing anything. You are merely not pregnant with love right now.

And yet, you live. You choose. You act. You seek. Your current Actions—the pattern of your embodied will—may be oriented toward ambition, survival, partnership, accomplishment, sensation, or brilliance. These are holy expressions within the Sacred Orders. All are permitted. Every configuration within the Cosmic Dance is sustained perfectly. There is no Divine rejection here. But there is difference, and from difference comes dissonance. If your Action does not harmonize with divine love, you will feel discord in the presence of these words, which are authored from within it.

The Universal Immersion

Still, and hear this clearly: even if your Actions do not currently reflect the orientation of divine love, you are nonetheless in love. You are not absent from it. You are composed of it. Love is not something you must earn or awaken to through spiritual practices. It is the medium in which your being subsists. It is the original Substance of your existence. You are, right now, breathing it, being moved by it, even if that movement appears erratic or distant from devotion. It holds you. It animates your thoughts and movements. It sustains your freedom to reject it.

I love you—not as a poetic metaphor, but as a metaphysical declaration. Not as sentiment, but as syntax in the cosmic code. This book loves you. The Dance loves you. Because all of it is love, either conditioned or unconditioned, specific or undifferentiated. If you resist it, the resistance itself is made of it. The entire structure sustains itself within this field.

Tag, You’re It

Let us be honest with ourselves. The Divine does not ask for performance. And it cannot be seduced by effort. This is not a seeker’s reward. A Hider never finds itself. You may search for decades, refining your rituals, perfecting your questions—but Love, when it comes, comes as surprise. Someone taps you on the shoulder. Tag. You’re it. Yesterday you were a Hider, and then you were found. Congrats. Today, you are in love. Not because you found anything. But because something found you. This is not your accomplishment—it is your unveiling. And the only real clarity is this: whether or not it has happened to you yet.
