Expectation is a complex number. Prediction (P) lives on the real axis; ideation (I), the uncanceled residue of every idea you hold, lives on the imaginary one.

Reality is the Actual (A > 0) divided by a complex Expectation — a quotient you feel but never fully see.

Consciousness reads the logarithm. Its magnitude becomes felt valence; its angle becomes the tilt of the moment.
|R| = A√P² + I² , arg R = −arctan(I / P)
Ideation damps the magnitude and mirrors the angle: the denominator’s tilt returns, reversed, as lived experience.

Every idea is a phasor with a strength and a direction. They add tip-to-tail. Opposing ideas cancel — so I = 0 means balance, never absence.
