It’s Really That Simple: You Are the Divine Experiencing Love

Let’s strip this down to its essence: you are the divine, threaded out from the oneness, here for a brief moment to experience something extraordinary—love. That’s it. That’s the whole point.

Everything else—the discomfort, the anxiety, the frustration, the feeling of separateness—is secondary. It’s the pebble in your shoe. It’s not the journey itself.

Love: The Medium of Existence

You are submerged in love. It surrounds you as completely as water surrounds a fish or air surrounds a bird. But like the fish that doesn’t think about water, or the bird that never considers air, you might not notice it. Yet, it’s always there. It’s the unseen medium of your existence.

Love is not something you have to earn or chase after. It’s not hiding or conditional. It is the very fabric of reality, the wave that carries every experience you have. All you have to do is notice it.

Take a moment, right now. Look around. That breath you just took—love. The blue sky, the palm trees, the people passing by—all love. The friendships, the fleeting moments of joy, the aches and pains, even the quiet stillness—love is there too. You are literally swimming in it.

The Perfectly Placed You

You are not here by accident. You’re a Manchurian candidate, so to speak, but for something infinitely greater than any worldly power. You’ve been perfectly placed, perfectly supported, and perfectly designed for this experience. Like a Manchurian candidate, you’re unaware of the full scope of your purpose. And that’s part of the perfection.

If you were fully aware—if you remembered the oneness completely—you wouldn’t be able to participate fully. You’d spoil the game. You’d resist the awkwardness, the uncertainty, the humanity of it all. And yet, every now and then, you can remind yourself: I’m the divine, here to feel, to experience, to love.

When you get caught up in the struggle, the worry, the separation anxiety, step back for a moment. Remind yourself that you are an invited guest in the grandest of all experiences. You are not here to fight against the world or prove yourself worthy. You are here to participate.

The Simple Shift

If you’re reading this and thinking, Wow, I’ve really been leaning into my separation anxiety. I’ve been clinging to my discomfort, fixating on the pebble in my shoe, don’t worry. Recognizing it is the first step. And the solution is so simple:

1. Stop Fixating on the Pebble. Yes, there’s discomfort. Yes, there’s awkwardness. But don’t let it be your focus. Life is the theme park—you’re here for the rides, not to sit on a bench lamenting your pebble.

2. Remind Yourself Who You Are. You are the divine, experiencing love in a way that only a separate, distinct, discernible being can. This isn’t a punishment. It’s a privilege.

3. Look Around. Pay attention to the love that’s everywhere. The sunlight streaming through a window. The sound of laughter. The kindness of a stranger. Even the bittersweet moments of longing and loss—they, too, are expressions of love.

4. Participate Fully. Engage with life. Take it all in. Say yes to the awkwardness, the uncertainty, the beauty, the pain. Be present. Be alive.

Faith in the Bigger Picture

If you know, as I do, that you are the divine having this human experience, lean into that knowing. And if you don’t know, then believe. Have faith in the bigger picture. Trust that you are not here by mistake. Trust that you are supported, guided, and loved beyond measure.

Separation anxiety is inevitable—it’s the price of admission for this extraordinary ride. But it’s also temporary. You are more than the discomfort of being separate. You are the divine, threaded out for a moment to feel, to experience, and to love.

And that? That is far more important than any pebble in your shoe.
