Mommy, what’s a cashier?

The digitally savvy are comfortable with technology. They consider technology to be an integral and necessary part of life. They are quick to adopt new features and functions. They quickly migrate to easier softer ways of working, playing, and living as soon as these technologies or techniques become available. 

Humans born after 2021 will soon ask their moms “what’s a cashier?” As a very successful business leader, this statement should annoy you! You do not need to believe anything you hear about the future. Assume my (and yours) crystal ball is broken. Predicting the future is not useful.

What is useful is your WILLINGNESS TO ADOPT changing customer behaviors as soon as they occur. DO NOT IGNORE WHAT JUST ACTUALLY HAPPENED!!!! As soon as your first digitally savvy customer text you instead of calling you, CHANGE! Change right then, not weeks, months, or years later! Change your entire business to adopt texting as an appropriate means to do business!

This is the crux of the matter. We see the occurrence. We experience the preference of texting versus calling AND YET THERE WE STAND FIRM IN OUR OLD WAYS. Resistance to change is our death knell.

What is necessary is our willingness to adopt new technologies and techniques once our prospects and customers show signs that their preferences and behaviors have changed!

Change is difficult. Your business flows have worked for you for decades. Why should you change how you do business? Most business executives will persist in their ways until the pain level of their persistence meets a critical threshold! It is this critical threshold that is the turning point! When the pain level in your business affairs crosses over this critical threshold, it is too late. Please don’t contact me after the threshold! It’s too late! Please contact me BEFORE the threshold. Only then can I help you! Do not let your persistent resistance to change evaporate your business’s goodwill in front of your eyes. This long painful death is not necessary! Your brilliant value proposition still has a place in the hearts of the digitally-savvy. Do not let their different ways block you from greatness!
